Licenses and model usage
1. Content ownership
- The creator keeps all IP rights over the models they upload.
- By publishing on ModelsJYR3D, the creator grants the platform a non-exclusive license to host, display and sell the content to end users, only within the service.
- The creator warrants the content is original or they hold the necessary rights to commercialize it and that it does not infringe third-party rights.
2. Licenses for buyers
By default, each purchase grants a personal, non-transferable license: download, print for personal use, and modify privately. If the author wants to allow more uses (e.g. selling printed parts or unlimited commercial use), they must state it when publishing the model.
| Suggested license type | Allows | Restricts |
|---|---|---|
| Personal use | Download, print for personal use, modify for private use. | Resale, digital redistribution and profit are prohibited. |
| Limited commercial use | Sell printed physical pieces in small batches (define units/month). | Does not allow reselling the digital file or sublicensing. |
| Full commercial use | Sale of physical products without limit, use in commercial projects, modification for commercial purposes. | File redistribution only if the author expressly authorizes it. |
These levels are indicative. You can customize licenses in your Terms and Conditions so creators choose the exact scope from the dashboard.
3. Buyer obligations
- Respect the purchased license and use models according to the stated restrictions.
- Do not share or resell STL/OBJ files outside ModelsJYR3D without explicit permission.
- Do not remove authorship notices, watermarks or attribution metadata when present.
- Assume responsibility for model usage (safety, regulatory compliance of the final product, etc.).
4. Creator obligations
- Ensure the model does not infringe third-party rights or contain prohibited material.
- Clearly define the license when uploading content and keep it updated.
- Respond to reasonable support requests (file errors, corrupted files).
- Withdraw the content if a valid infringement notice is received or if the platform requires it.
5. Open licenses (Creative Commons)
If a creator wants to publish under a Creative Commons license (e.g. CC BY or CC BY-NC), ModelsJYR3D must clearly show it on the model page. The buyer is bound by that license, and if they pay for a CC download they understand they pay for curation/hosting, not for an exclusive right.
6. Takedown and claims
- The platform will apply a notice & takedown process when copyright claims arise. Content may be unpublished preventively while investigated.
- Users may report infringements to modelsjyr3d@gmail.com. Proof of ownership will be requested.
- If there is a conflict between author and buyer (e.g. license scope), the platform will try to mediate and, if appropriate, refund according to the refunds policy.
7. Trademarks and advertising
Creators that include registered trademarks in their models must have authorization. The platform reserves the right to remove any content that infringes image rights, trademarks or applicable regulations.
8. Payments and refunds
- Payments are processed via Stripe. ModelsJYR3D does not store full card data; Stripe securely handles payment methods.
- In case of billing incidents or fraud, we may request additional information to verify the transaction or process a refund.
- Refunded amounts, when applicable, will be processed through the same payment method used.
- Important: If a refund is issued, Stripe payment processing fees (charged at purchase time) are not refundable and are not covered by the platform. The buyer will receive the model amount plus the platform fee, but Stripe banking fees are not returned.
